15 year old Lakshya Sen from Almora, Uttarakhand, who is the current National Champion in the U17 category and one of India’s top juniors, annexed the Men’s Singles title in the SATS India International Challenge Badminton Championship which concluded at Gachibowli, Hyderabad on Sunday. Lakshya beat Zii Jia Lee of Malaysia 11-13, 11-3,11-6,11-6 in the finals. Lakshya had earlier accounted for the top seed Shreyansh Jaiswal in straight games in the semis. Lee is the third ranked junior in the world. During an eventful 2016, Lakshya had won the bronze medal in the BAC Youth Under 19 Championship in Thailand and his first All India Men’s Singles title in Itanagar in September. Lakshya has been a permanent trainee of Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy since the age of 9 and has won many titles at the National and International level in the Under 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19 categories.
