Lakshya Sen came agonisingly close to winning back to back international titles when he narrowly lost to Thamassin Sithikom of Thailand in the finals of TATA Open International Tournament in Mumbai. Sithikom, an Asian Bronze Medalist like Lakshya, was the winner in a 80 minute long classic Badminton encounter at the CCI Courts on Sunday at 15-21, 21-14, 21-19.
Lakshya Sen won the third senior international title of his fledgling career by defending the India international series title in Hyderabad yesterday. Lakshya beat Yee Han Chong of Malaysia in a tight three setter lasting 57 minutes, 21-15,17-21,21-17.
Kiran George made amends for missing out on the Indian team for the World Juniors by annexing his first senior title at the national level in Bangalore. Kiran who is the current national champion in the under 17 age category and also a silver medallist in the same category at the Asian Junior Championships last year has been steadily showing progress over the last one year.

This programme was conceptualised with the intent of having foreign teams come to the garden city of Bangalore and train at the world class facilities of the PPBA.
