Rahul Bharadwaj won the first Senior International title of his fledgling career at the Uganda International Series Badminton Tournament in Kampala yesterday.

Rahul Bharadwaj B M did well to win back to back international titles in Africa, by winning Kenya International 2019 during March 2019. Earlier in February Rahul had won Uganda International Series.

Rahul beat Aman Sanjay Farogh in an hour long final 22-20, 15-21, 21-18 exacting revenge for the loss in the final of the Khelo India Under 21 final in Pune a few weeks ago. Like in Uganda, in Nairobi also the unseeded Rahul had to come through the qualifying rounds. He won five rounds of the main draw to win this Futures Series title. He quelled the challenge of Rishabh Deshpande of India in three sets in the quarters and Siddharth of India in the semi-finals. The 1700 points earned by him for winning this Futures Series title will catapult him to around 300 in the World Badminton Rankings.
