Lakshya Sen came agonisingly close to winning back to back international titles when he narrowly lost to Thamassin Sithikom of Thailand in the finals of TATA Open International Tournament in Mumbai. Sithikom, an Asian Bronze Medalist like Lakshya, was the winner in a 80 minute long classic Badminton encounter at the CCI Courts on Sunday at 15-21, 21-14, 21-19. In fact, Chirag, Bodhit, Mithun, Lakshya, all young turks of the academy fell to the eventual winner of the tournament. Lakshya enacted a repeat of the final of the India International Series in the first round beating Yee Han Chong this time 21-23,21-10, 21-18. He also beat the second seeded Abhishek Yeligar for the second time in a week 21-10, 21-12 in the semi final before his final showdown. The silver medal finish is sure to push Lakshya's world rankings higher when new rankings are released on Thursday.
