Kiran George and Aakarshi Kashyap won the Men's & Singles titles at the Yonex Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament which concluded in Vijayawada on 16th June 2019.

Kiran George and Aakarshi Kashyap won the Men's & Singles titles at the Yonex Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament which concluded in Vijayawada on 16th June 2019. While Kiran subdued seasoned International A S S Siril Verma in three games 21-9, 15-21, 21-11, Aakarshi did not have to sweat much to vanquish Anura Prabhudesai of Goa 21-12, 21-16. This is the second consecutive All India Tournament where both Kiran and Aakarshi have emerged victorious, the last one being the Bangalore event in April where Kiran beat Rahul Yadav and Aakarshi defeated Riya Mookerjee in the finals. It was a revenge of sorts for Kiran who had lost to Siril in three games in the finals of the All India event held in Kozhikode earlier this year. With one runner up finish followed by two titles in the three All India events held till date this year, Kiran has become the most consistent player in the domestic circuit. The fourth All India Senior ranking tournament of the year starts tomorrow in Hyderabad.
