MEIRABA makes it Four in a row

Maisnam Meiraba of Manipur won the Boys' Singles title of the Yonex Sunrise All India Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2019 which concluded in Trivandrum on 2nd June. Meiraba beat Sankar Muthuswamy of Tamil Nadu 21-14, 21-10 in the finals. With this Meiraba has won four consecutive All India Junior Ranking Tournaments conducted this year. Last week in Chennai he beat Akash Yadav to win the Chennai leg of the All India Junior Circuit. He had also won back to back titles in Bangalore and Vijayawada in January, During the last fortnight, Meiraba won 12 matches in a row losing only a single game to Satish Kumar in the semi-finals of the Trivandrum tournament. Meiraba has already established himself as one of the top Juniors in the World Junior Circuit. Aditi Bhatt won the bronze in the Girls' Singles of the Trivandrum event beating Keyura Mopati in the play off. She combined with Tanisha Crasto of Goa to win the Chennai leg of the circuit beating Ritika Thakker and Simran Singhi of Maharashtra. She narrowly missed making it a grand double when she and partner Tanisha narrowly lost in three games to Varshini & Treesa Jolly in the finals of the Trivandrum event.
