Lakshya Sen bags bronze at World Championships

PPBA proud ward, 20-year-old Lakshya Sen created history when he bagged a bronze medal at the World Badminton Championship held at Spain in December 2021.

Lakshya's performance at this tournament gave his fans across the world many magical badminton moments. In the Men's Singles semifinals Lakshya lost a hard-fought battle to fellow Indian Kidambi Srikanth 17-21, 21-14, 21-17 to win the bronze.

Badminton fraternity watched every step of 20-year-old Lakshya with great delight in the semifinals. Olympian U Vimal Kumar and Director at PPBA said Lakshya's passion and commitment for the game is matchless.

"We are all proud of his achievements, especially at the World Championships. He will back to training at PPBA after a well-deserved break. He will now have the support of South Korean Yong Sung Yoo, who has joined PPBA as the foreign head coach," Vimal said.

Lakshya will now head to New Delhi in January to play at the India Open 2022, which is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500.

After the podium finish in Spain, Lakshya took to Twitter and thanked his fans, coaches and parents for their love & support.
