Young Trainees excel in Israel Junior International

Rahul Bharadwaj of Karnataka, a trainee at PPBA won his maiden international title in the under 13 Boy’s Singles category of the Israel Junior International Badminton Championships which concluded yesterday at Rishon le Zio near Tel Aviv.

Ruthvika wins a “Double” in Haridwar

Ruthvika Shivani scored a double in the 10th UBI All India Sub Junior Ranking Tournament which was held in KBA Stadium from 20th to 24th July 2011. She won the Under 15 Girls’ Singles and Doubles (partnering Sanjana Santhosh of Maharashtra).

Ashwini Ponnappa & Jwala Gutta create History

Ashwini Ponnappa partnering Jwala Gutta created history at the World Championships at Wembley on 12th August. She and partner became the first players after Prakash Padukone to reach the World Championship semi-finals. Prakash had reached the Men’s Singles semis in 1988.
