PRAKASH PADUKONE
BADMINTON ACADEMY

building
champions

At PPBA, we believe champions are not born but built—through years of intentional training, structured planning, and quiet discipline. Talent is only the starting point. What follows is daily effort, thoughtful coaching, and a commitment to doing the work, even when it’s hard. Our focus is on long-term athlete development, not overnight success or short-term gains. Every player here is part of a system that prioritises effort, integrity, and growth—on the court and beyond it.

our
impact

We don’t measure success in moments but in years of consistent output. From producing Olympians to creating a steady pipeline of national-level athletes, our numbers reflect the strength of our systems and the seriousness of our approach. These outcomes are not accidental—they are engineered through process.

Thomas Cup 2022

India’s Thomas Cup win in 2022 was a landmark moment in Indian badminton. Lakshya Sen, a trainee of PPBA since his early years, gave India a strong start in the final with a crucial win over Indonesia’s Anthony Ginting, setting the stage for a historic victory.

The Indian team was managed by PPBA Co-founder Vimal Kumar. A Dronacharya Awardee and respected figure in Indian badminton, it was his first time managing the national side, and the result was India’s first-ever Thomas Cup title.

PPBA’s Foreign Coach, Yong Sung Yoo, a two-time Olympic medallist, and Lakshya’s father and coach, D.K. Sen, played vital roles in Lakshya’s preparation and the team’s success.

Physiotherapist Abdul Wahid ensured the squad remained physically ready through every match.

Behind every performance is a story of effort, recovery, and persistence. This section documents the real experiences of our players and coaches—their breakthroughs, failures, turning points, and the quiet, consistent work that shaped who they are today. These are not highlight reels or scripted narratives. They are lived journeys, grounded in process, patience, and personal growth.

Kiran Seth, the man behind SPIC MACAY, tells about his trips with his father to India's famous Gurukuls, the Bihar School of Yoga, the Ammannur Gurukulam, the Dagar brother's music school etc. I would like to look upon PPBA as a Gurukul, where the philosophy of a Master sportsman, Sri Prakash Padukone has been taught for more than 3 decades. Hope it continues for ever.
