Kunlavut beat Lakshya in straight games 21-17, 21-14 in the finals. Lakshya had come through five good wins to reach the finals of which three were 3 setters. He beat Lucas Claerbaut (France) 21-14, 18-21, 21-10; Li Shifeng (China) 21-18, 21-12; top seed Ygor Coelho (Brazil) 16-21, 21-7, 21-14 and Kim Brunn (Denmark) 17-21, 21-14, 21-5. It is possible that these tough matches over the last two days had taken a toll on him, preventing him an win over Kunlavut, who had beaten him in the Orleans Masters a fortnight back.
