Meiraba reigns in Chandigarh

Maisnam Meiraba of Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, currently India's top Under 17 Boys's Singles player, won his second National Under 19 Boys' Singles title in Chandigarh beating his Academy mate Kiran George in over an hour 23-21, 16-21, 21-14. He had to overcome Priyanshu Rajawat, winner of the Tirupur leg of the Junior Circuit and Tharun M in the quarters and semis, in three games lasting an hour and more. Meiraba won the Cochin All India Junior Ranking tournament in July and also the Under 17 All India tournament in Nagpur in July. He will be the spearhead of the Indian team leaving for Myanmar for the Asian Youth Under 15 & 17 Championships to be held there from 3rd to 7th October.

Aditi Bhatt, partnering Tanisha Crasto who trains at the Padukone Sports Management centre in Dubai did well to annexe the Junior Girls' title being Preethi K & Priya Devi 24-22, 21-13. This pair has been dominating the Under 17 Girls' events, winning both the Nagpur and Hyderabad legs of the Sub Junior Circuit. Aditi will also represent India in the forthcoming Asian Youth Under 15 & 17 Championships, thanks to her sterling performances in both singles and doubles.

Alap Mishra who lost to Kiran in the semis and Dhrithi Yatheesh &Trisha Hegde who lost in the semis of the Junior Girls' Doubles event were the other medal winners from the Academy.
